Meet August and Sterling

These twin brothers from Kennedy Heights started coming to the Arts Center when they were 5 years old - and have been regulars ever since.

For these teens, Kennedy Heights Arts Center has been a place for expressing creativity and instilling important skills. Over the past nine years, August and Sterling have done many things: drawing, painting, building sculptures, making movies. What stands out in their experience?

Sterling: "The student art show. I felt famous! It was cool having our art in a real gallery."

August: "The teachers. They are really helpful and taught us a lot of cool stuff."

Kennedy Heights Arts Center helps shape young lives. It gives youth like August and Sterling a positive place to be, to be around other creative kids and to have their talents encouraged.

"The Arts Center has played a big part in their lives," says grandmother Sula Nared. "It helped them get along with others and gave them insight on lots of interesting things."
